I. Pre-Service Teacher Education and Teacher Professional Development Division As per the Kerala General Education (District Institute Of Education and Training) State Service Special Rules 2021, DIETs have two main divisions (a) Pre Service Teacher Education and Teacher Professional Development and (b) Planning Technology and Assessment. The first division has the total charge of compreh ensive teacher education through pre service and in service mode. Development of curriculum and training modules, and materials such as supporting materials and teaching learning materials to ensure the effectiveness of the teacher education programmes are vested in this division. DIETs need to improvise different methods of transaction for teacher professional development like try outs, online classes, direct classes, blended classes, extension classes, distance mode classes etc. Monitoring, evaluation and research are essential to ensure the quality of teacher transformation programmes. DIETs have to conduct various research methods including action research in institutions within the districts, and at district and statg & Management (P&M)
II. Planning Technology and Assessment Division Educational planning, educational technology and student assessment fall under this division. It is entrusted with the responsibility of the development of various teaching learning materials. The following two faculties are the two academic sections of this division. 1. Educational Technology and Material Development 2. Planning, Assessment and Evaluation
